    Another Wiring Question

    For all the people who have actually done the swap and wired it up themselves... I am THINKING about doing a swap down the road. Ive been looking at wiring diagrams and figuring out what all is in the C101 and what pin everything is and all that. Here is what I have come up with. I have a 1990 325is. Maybe doing an m50 non vanos, but this should be the body side of the C101. If anyone finds any flaws please let me know so I can write them down and correct my chart. Also let me know if you think it is correct. Thanks.

    C101 Connector, Body Side (1990 BMW 325is)
    Pin Wire Color
    1 Blu--- Alternator -> Instrument Cluster, ABS Control Unit (Charging Monitor )
    2 Blu/Blk---Oil Level Sensor -> Check Control (Pin 1, Lvl Full?)
    3
    4 Br/Vl--- Coolant Temp. Sender
    5 Blk/Br--- Oil Pressure Switch
    6 Grn/Yl--- Oxygen Sensor Heater Relay (from fuse 9)
    7 Grn--- Ignition Switch -> DME
    8 Yl/Wt--- Present Fuel Rate output -> MPG Gauge
    9 Blk--- Engine Speed (DME -> Tachometer)
    10 Vl/Grn--- Oil Level Sensor -> Check Control (Pin 2, Lvl Low?)
    11 Wt/Blu---Instrument Cluster -> Diagnostic Connector (Service Light Reset)
    12 Br/Blk--- Check Engine Light (DME -> Instrument Cluster)
    13 Vl/Rd--- Fuel Pump Relay
    14 Blu/Yl--- Speed Signal (Instrument Cluster -> DME)
    15 Blk/Grn---Unloader Relay -> Starter
    16 Wt/Blk---Srs -> Diagnostic Connector
    17
    18 Blk/Yl--- Ignition -> Starter (crank)
    19 Br--- Ground (oxygen sensor, diagnostic connector)
    20 Rd/Yl--- Main Relay - >ABS Hydraulic Unit

    Thank you,

    Will

      If I get the m50 I am looking at... I believe it came out of an e36. I am mostly just wanting to make sure that those pins for the body side are correct. It will be a long time before I start actually working on putting it in. I plan on getting everything, then rebuilding the m50 before it goes in. When I do stuff I will definitely give you a PM if I have any questions though. I appreciate it. Let me know what ya find on my pins/wires/etc. Thanks!

          Were the colors the same on both sides of your original e30 c101 connection?

            Check out www.addissimo.com for the e36 part go to the engine/power thing and click on e30/m50 wiring. I used his chart verbatum with my e34 harness in my 91 325i and it started! I know a few of the gauges worked too.
