    help, non vanos chip install

I just purchased a chip for the non vanos m50 and this is my first time ever opening up the dme, to my surprise it's nothing like the picture that is on pelican. My dme has two circut boards, and the chip is in between them, i can't figure out how to sperate the two boards safely. help help help! and i searched and came up with nothing. thanks

There was a thread about this on the old BEN board. I'm not sure if it's active still but it's like putting a chip in a 153 ecu.

OK...that top board should clip out at the back, the white part right...?

Check the front part, I have seen ONE other ECU, where the front part was moulded into the the board.

on this pic IIRC only the top row of the pins is the top row of the board. You might have to razor blade around this. Look REAL careful. SOemtimes they can be just a PITA cause you have to pull them out.

the front part of the ecu isn't molded in, i can wiggle the top row of the pins around but there seems to be something else holding it in

holy damn dood, i finally got my dme to open up. the terminal has these two marks on the top of the top row of pins and you jam a small flat head screw driver in there and that pushes the top row of pins down off the lip so it could slide off. bah!!
