    Relay mounting options

What are some options for mounting / positioning the relays?

Pictures and BMW part numbers (if applicable) would be appreciated.

I have the 318 wiring harness cover but I couldn't mount my relays under the cover due to space constraints (the engine is in the way).

I'm trying to make this install look as clean as possible.

BTW -- I searched this topic twice and couldn't find any real answers.

    Thanks

I would suggest just hiding them up in the ECU area in your glove box, or find a mount and put them in the engine bay before the hole to your glove.

Does anyone have any suggestions or a part number for a mount for the relays?

I think I want to try and keep them on the drivers side only because I have already finished tucking in the wiring harness.

      Thanks for the input equate975.

      Thanks

just mount them onto the fuse box. no brakcets or mounts needed. the fuse box has the slot cast into it. the relay bases just clip in place. search the engine bay thread. i will also try to find my pic that shows another location. cheers, jason

          Good feedback Jason89i.

I need to check and see if that will work for me.

          Thanks

I don't see how you guys get your fuses over there, mine wire isn't near long enough.... Maybe its just because I have a stupid 525 harness

ive also mounted them in the battery tray. made some custom brackets, worked nicely. see pic.

also mounted them on the driver strut tower w/ custom bracket. no pics though. cheers, jason

Jason89i -- I will end up mounting them off the fuse box.

Since I have a convertible the passenger side won't work since my battery is there.

5er M50 harnesses have the relays on on the passenger side, 3er M50 harnesses have them on the driver's side.

I have the clips that let you mount the M50 relays on the stock e30 relay holder. 100% stock look. $2 each shipped, you need 3. PM me for my paypal address.
