    What did I miss??

I did the S52 build up for my 88' 325is and it fired right off! the windows work too! Thanks to all of you that had layed out and shared this area of the swap with others! My problem is dieing coming up to stops ,Idle after startup (cold ) is good, tps checks good, cis motor shows good. Speed, abs and cruise all work. Driving with scanner hooked up shows speed sensor with very little movement at about 28km.The ecu thinks I'm always moving. My thoughs are the ecu is not getting a readable signal that I'm coming to stop causing no signal to tps/cis motor? If I brake and hold in gear down to 1500rpm engine won't die. I'd love to hear from someone smarter than me with some ideas about as what's going on?? WHAT DID I MISS?? thanks joe

double check your wiring regarding the speed signal.

the ecu on a 506/413 ecu will UP the idle 100rpm if it thinks the car is rolling.

simple test. stop on a hill. let the car idle. release brake, let the car roll down hill in neutral. ecu should increase idle about 100rpm if the speed signal is present.

    cheers, jason

just a theory, but could it be the neutral signal from tranny not connected? (two wires that go through the rubber shifter boot)

Update,This weekend I'll put the time in but I've noticed that If the engine dies coming to stops the tach will stay/sticks at the rpm it died at.Does not die at speed ,only coming to stops under normal conditions! Tach freezing/holding, restarts normal, tach returns correct operation . Where to look first? WHAT DID I MISS?? thanks joe
