    Custom A/C lines.

It's starting to get hot here in AZ and need some lines.

Is it cost affective to get the Zionsville kit or could I save a bundle going to a shop to get some custom ones made?

Also, my E30 is a 1990. Did those come originally with R12 or R134a?

its give or take... the zion lines are actually fairly priced unlike the rest of their stuff.

eventually im gonna give those aeroquip soft ac lines a try

I've got a set of Zionsville lines along with a bunch of new parts I never got around to installing before turning my car into a dedicated racer.

New dryer, evaporator and condenser, all r134a. The dryer was part of the 134r conversion kit from bavauto which includes the new stickers and a handful of gaskets. The condenser was modified to accept a spal 16" pusher fan instead of the stock e30 aux fan. Zionsville custom lines, a good compressor, new (1000 miles) belt, and all the other bits and pieces to make the system complete.

Haven't decided if I want to sell it as a complete kit or part everything out. If your interested shoot me a PM.

HEy Bob I had a place named Cherokee supply make my hoses using the old ends and it only cost $25 for each! I was wondering what refrigerant I should run? I ideally would like to only switch the drier and flush it. 12???134A??? Freeze12

If you got some time at the meet I want to pick your brain about my engine and it's poor behavior

Any one know how much pressure these lines have to deal with?

The cheapy gauge I have has zones(low, safe, danger) instead of PSI.

The drier has a high and low pressure switch so it doesn't get too full or low. I would just put 2 1/2 cans in it.

thats not why i was asking. i was asking because im making custom lines myself and was wondering what they should be able to handle psi wise. A dude one BF said around 300psi. sound right?

Meh even on the high side that is a tad much. 240-270 more like it. but that is not what you fill it to. The system has a high side and a low side, you fill on the low side to a specified capacity, not to a PSI level. I personally am not going to fill over the spec on the E30 system so I don't put undue stress on the components. (everything but comp is still e30 remember)

Cool, i gotcha. That guy said at most 300 so that sounds like a good MAX rating to me. Im pretty pumped to have a/c. Itll be the first time this car has seen a/c in at least a few years :)

I ran R134 in my car and it works fine gets probably 90-95% cold as R12 cars.
