Weird. I can lock em up, but only with a lot of force. I have 320i/25mm MC/E30 M3 brakes.

I'm gonna run this 944 booster with a stock Girling MC. I just installed it an hour ago, hopefully I can drop the engine in this long weekend.

That guy has something wrong with his brakes if he can't lock them up with the 320i booster, or he weighs about 50lbs.

with the 320i booster, u want to get a vacuum reserve canister, to add to ur brake assist...i did this and it made for much better brake feel and less effort to lock up

For fitment, I'm using an M5 driver's side mount, and I had to shave the last four fins of the intake manifold to get it to clear the brake booster.

In terms of master cylinder / brake fluid reservoir clearance, there is plenty of space between the TPS cable and the fluid reservoir.

OK, the car's now running and I broke in the pads.

It feels pretty close to stock. The diameter of the brake booster is around a quarter of an inch to a half inch larger than the 320i booster, so I had to shave the last four fins of the manifold AND I had to run around 4 mm of spacers on the driver's side engine mount. Friggin spacer city here.

It's not really any harder to lock them up with street pads (Pagid) and street tires (205/55R15 Potenza RE750) than stock, IMO. I don't have any unfettled E30s to test out this theory, though. There's definitely less pedal effort than my other 320i/25mm MC/M3 brake system.

I had an 86 944(the updated one) in 99 when I was 19 in Dallas, and while the toughest thing to do on it was a clutch and timing balance shaft belt job it was a pretty simple car. I do remember it did require QUITE the effort to lock up on dry pav though. I'm glad I got rid of that $$$ pit. Wai!!! I spent more on the E30's !!!
