    I ended up have one bead blasted, sand is a little too abrassive for the soft metal, and that showed all the flaws so I skimmed it with bondo and painted it. After lots and lots of sanding to make it perfect.

      You put bondo on your valve cover and then painted it? I wouldnt do the bondo, and you still just painted it, no powder coat etc.

        If you polish Mg, it won't last for very long at high shine. Mg will oxidize quickly to a dark, dull gray.

        Powder coating will work, but proper prep is essential.

            It looks good and have had lots of compliments on it. You would not even know I had bondo in it if I didnt tell you. When done right you cant tell. And yeah no poweder coating because of reasons that have already been said..
