So how does EWS work?

I am having trouble getting my m50 started. I am not getting ground to the main relay. Its the brown wire that goes all the way into the dme. I am trying to use a silver lable 413. I was told the chip I have deleted the EWS but I kinda have a felling that it doesn't. Is this something that EWS would do so that you can't start the car?

yes. ews will disable the fuel pump and ignition. car will crank, but not start.
