Why does no one do this?

Alright so with everyone doing every imaginable swap why do you never hear of an s54 swap. I was just wondering why no one does this i have even called around tojunkyards for engines the s54's that i have found are not THAT much more expensive. what i have found they range from 5,000-10,000 and based on how most people that do say an s50/s52 turbo swap will spend upwards of 6-8 thousand why dont people just use the s54 at 333Hp. I was just wondering thanx for any answers.


BTW i most certainitly do not have enough money for that swap but i would love to have a turbo s54 e30 muahahahaha.

With the money saved by going with an S50/2 you might have enough left over for a DIY turbo setup. Which will make tons more power than an S54.

Remember, not only are the motors a lot more expensive, but to actually swap them in will most likely cost more as well.

Because 6-8 grand is a full s52 swap..... the s54 alone costs 5-10k as you said... so you can throw quite a few more to swap it in.

from what i understand the harness for that car is a nightmare. ive heard rumors that everything is tied into the engine harness. im talking about even the car security is wrapped up in it, doorlocks and all!!

there is a dude somewhere on teh net with huge thread documenting his every step in his s54 into e30 swap. He even uses their variant of tiptronic transmission

Because SMG is fun and allows you to keep two hands on the steering wheel...have you driven an E46 M3 with it?
