Check engine code 1283?

Hey guys,

While driving today i got a CEL. I pulled over and got the code 1283. aparently thats the Fuel Injector Output Stage. What exactly is that? How do i go about trying to fix it?

Did you delete the charcoal canister check valve?

Is that the thing that gets pluged in (plug comes from the same housing that has the hfm wires) thats in the line to the canister?

No. I kept it.

It is mounted vertically instead of horizontally like it is in that sheet. Would that matter?

I think that means you have a short between the ECU and the injectors. Check your harness.

Weird. Maybe its cause i took the thing apart so many times. It sucks buying a shitty motor...

I guess I thought incorrectly that deleting the check valve might trigger a CEL. Good luck sorting things out!

Yeah I never hooked one up, I always have that code. Shouldn't effect performance though, just annoying.

The cel has been poping on and off lately with the 1283 code. It was to the point where itd do it once everytime i drove the car. Today it finally got bad.

So the thing started running really rough today and the CEL came on so i pulled into a gas station and stopped, check the codes and its 1283 again. So i pop the hood. take off the fuel harness cover thing and everything looks fine. Open up the main harness cover fool around with the wires cant find anything wrong. So i start the car there with the hood open and no cel. Decided to pop the covers back on and drive away. So the light hasnt been back on and ive drive at least 2-3 hours after the incedent. It would do it randomly but a few times every 20 min drive.

I dont get it but it seems to have gone away. Could it have been from the fuel harness not being plugged into the injectors all the way? the last one seemed loose. Then again theres a code for each injector series isnt there?
