Cant find a chip for this setup.

So i have a complete m50 and i would like to put s50 cams pulleys and a 3.5 hfm. I was planning on using a m52 bottom end though for the extra displacement. I contacted turner to see if they have any setup for a obd1 m50 head with m52 bottom end. They do not. Any idea what route i should take? And if i should just buy a whole other m52 motor or just drop in the 2.5?
Active Autowerke is close but i dont know if they do obd1 custom chips. Anyone got any insight?

It's a pretty damn unusual setup.

Interested in a semi-custom remote tune? We send a chip, you dyno and log wideband AFRs and send them back to us and we send you another chip tune based on the dyno?

Price for a tune like this is normally $650, but I'll give you a great deal so we have a chip for this setup, or a similar one, in the future. PM me if you're interested.

PS: Active may sell you a chip for this setup, but it will probably suck ass. I got an NA chip from them and it barely ran my car. :) If you're not going to buy one from me, definitely get a Turner/JimC or Mark D'Sylva chip. Much better than Active.

I emailed turner and they told me that they do not have a chip for that. Should i just run a chip made for the m50tu and just wish for the best with the extra displacement?

You would not have good luck doing that.

A stock M50TU chip will run like crap with a 3.5" MAF, and the cams will only make it worse, since they'll move the VE peak of your motor around, but the timing will stay where is with the stock cams.

I'm pretty sure Stickley could help you out.

            His e-mail is CSSMotorsports@comcast.net

Tell him about your setup and he'll let you know.

I was thinking a chip made for the cams the afm and the pulleys for a 2.5 but running it on a 2.8 block. Any ideas?

That would be a much better idea. The pulleys won't make any difference though.

Did Turner tell you they actually have a tune for a 3.5" MAF on an M50TU?

                  Matt,

I'll have to have a custom chip cut for my setup most likely in a couple of months. They are common engine mods, but they are beyond what a stamped chip like Turner would sell. If you're looking to cut people breaks on these initial chip setups, I may be interested.

The chip will need to be tuned for an S50 with a 3.5 HFM, Schricks, 24lb injectors, lightened flywheel, 11.1:1 CR, 1mm oversize valves, etc.

Definitely PM me. We may have something close by then, but you will definitely need some dyno time and a custom tune, mostly to get the ignition timing optimized for the schricks and the compression.

Matt, nice little site your advertising. Im also wondering about a non-vanos 2.8L m50 chip with the 3.5hfm, schrick intake cam and a real free flowing exhaust. I have a wideband 02 set up but im pretty sure it dosnt data log. Oh well.

Thanks for the compliment! The software isn't on the site yet, but it will be soon. We're still working out how to put it in the catalog.

We're also still working on non-vanos software. Nothing to offer yet. Hopefully in a month or two.

As for datalogging wideband, most dynos have one that you can use. You can just stick it in the tailpipe if you aren't running cats, or you need an extra bung in the exhaust if you are running cats.

Yeah, if you're using OBDII headers, that makes it easy. It's not an issue to just read from 3 cylinders.
