if your 88m3 has a pin15 blk/grn, then not the same wiring as mine. m3's had different wiring in 87. not sure when the changeover date was, but it was after 3/87 and before 12/87. main difference was the "start" request signal and the body electronice unloading relays.
are you asking about the e30m3 c101pin15 blk/yel? "START" request from ignition switch to starter pin 50 / diag. conn. / motronic
start request signal does not go to the e36pin15 blk/grn body electronics unloader relays.

pin6 grn/yel - hint.....check the earlier post with attached etm diagram. evap power.
pin15 blk/grn hint.....check the start system and k5/k7 body electornic unloader relays.
pin16 wht/blk......this one was a little trickey to follow....but its part of the srs system that goes to the diag. connector.
pin20 red/yl......mike is right, hint, check the abs system.
