Nice soldering skills inside the DME .

But if its running who cares , right ? :D

And whats the deal with the crap intakes on those engines , is it possoble and are there gains to be had to switching to like a OBDI M50 manifold ?

        It's an excellent intake manifold.

if the economics work for you, a stroker using the S52/M54 crank, 135mm conrods and M54 pistons will take your 2.5L M50 to 3.0L with unchanged 84mm bore and stroke lengthened to 89.6mm.

So basically an iron block M50B30.

I am sorry if this has been covered before, what are the 135mm rods from ? Will the 260 crank fit any m5x block (including z3 block) ?

                  IIRC S50, S52, M52B28 and M54B30 rods are all 135mm.

I believe the S52/M54 crank fits M50B25 and M52B28 (mainly iron blocked in USA, but alloy blocked for the Euros) blocks.

You would effectively have an S50 at that point minus the cams .
But most would install S50 (or better) cams anyway .

                        Thanks!

Does anybody know if there is a reason why it wouldn't fit aluminum z3 block ?

Not really, it would be a 3.0l stroker.

Longer stroke and narrower bore than a real S50.
