It clears, but won't fit over the wiring cover that sits on top of the intake manifold/coil cover - so you would have to ditch that piece.
Let me guess.....you still have the E36 harness cover on & laid over the valve cover. Get the E30 M3 piece, and then crack that old thing open, rip out unneeded wires, rewrap & put in M3 cover. Now any bar will fit.
Sorry if I'm wrong, but that's like the only possible way I can see that a bar won't fit.

Bingo, the E36 wiring harness cover. The Sparco won't fit over that. I intend to clean the cover up a bit (thanks for the tip on the E30 M3 cover) but it's not at the top of the list for th moment.
FWIW it's in a cabrio - not sure that makes a difference.
