need e36 driveshaft to e30 rearend help

I have a 1987 325e that originally had the "larger guibo driveshaft". I put in a 92 m50 n/v with the getrag trans that comes with that motor. I want to get the driveshaft that will bolt right into the e30 rearend. Idk if you gotta know exactly which rearend i have but i will get the numbers if needed..

I would like to know exactly which E36 driveshafts that i can use in combination with the e30 rearend that will work??

Any input would be very greatful

    Thanks,
    -Nick

The E36 325i manual driveshaft will work. You will need to use the E30 center support bearing, and the E36 guibo (since you have the E36 trans). The rear of the E36 driveshaft has the same bolt circle diameter as the E30 diff.

      Thanks fred
i was talkin with someone from the Euro depot(bmw shop) and they told me there were many different combinations of driveshafts that can be used with certain m50 trans and e30 diffs.

An E30 325i/is manual driveshaft will work as well.

Listen to Mike and Fred, they know more about these swaps than Stephen Hawking knows about quantum theory.

              HOT DOG IN A HALLWAY.

EDIT: ok fine, I will go over this again.

G250 output flange and E36 guibo: 12mm bolt holes
E30 guibo and E30 325i DS input flange: 10mm bolt holes

When you cinch it up, the bolts are going to be a little loose in the transmission output flange and possibly the guibo, depending on which one you have. Now, this is less-than-ideal, but it'll probably get you down the road.

heh.. when i talked with the guys at the Euro-Depot the other day they told me the driveshaft question for the dohc swap is there #1 tech question, they told me that sometimes they will use a combination of 2 different driveshafts, EX: using a 1/2 m3 ds with 1/2 328i ds(not sure if thats the exact one but somethin like that), they claimed there were many different combinations like that, that is sometimes needed.

So they suggested to me to ask on a bmw forum to see what kind of information i can get from that..(i guess they didnt really know for sure and didnt want to tell me the wrong one)
