What problems are you having? Is there something that's not going to work?

As the title says, I've been hearing that people have "issues" of some kind or another. I wanted to know what problems they are having so I could avoid them or prepare for them.

Also, if you take a look at all the normal features of the car pre-swap, is there something that is not going to work no matter what I do? Or can you get all the accessories, etc. to work as normal post-swap?

    Thanks!!

Every time I disconnect the battery it goes into limp mode for like 5 min and runs like ass, then it runs fine.

      ? Never had that problem.

I still get a CEL. It's for the 02 sensor and not sure what's causing it. But nothing to worry about too much.

Beats me as to why, I'm assuming its something because I have 24# injectors. I have the correct chip for it, but it seems like its relearning or some crap when I disconnect the battery.

that happened with my bone stock m20.

problems are just going to happen, most everyone will have things wrong but its just small things tha got left out, or not put together right. My car started first try for me but everything after that has been a mess. Most of those things where little errors by me or something like a gas hardline having a small hole. Little things just happen, i cant really think of any few things that would be a problem for a lot of people, different shit just happens.

well the only real unfixable is getting the MPG gauge and the OBC functions to read correctly. This is only off because you are using the wrong injector size to what the car is expecting.

everything else should work as stock... if it doesnt fix it.

              +1

My whole instrument cluster works just as it did before, but the MPG is WAY off.

Isn't there a calibration procedure for the OBC? Or is that only for E36 models?

Not that I have heard of. R3vEngineer I think was coming up with some electrical adapter of sorts that can translate it.

The problem is IIRC the e36 OBC calculates the MPG differently than the e30 one. Kinda like the temp sensor, the e30 OBC can't figure out the mpg based on e36 inputs.

wow MPG gauges that work? never heard that before. are you using the treehouse adapter? i was under the impression it isnt supposed to work cause its tied into the obc and the 173 ecu?? my CEL stayed on all the time, as did the ABS light, until i pulled the bulbs. my engine oil light is on all the time (no sender).

if i were to do another swap (which i will) in preperation id replace EVERYTHING that you can that is a pain to get to with the motor in. for example, your interior blower fan etc.

                      Exactly!

My service interval lights wouldn't reset at first but it was because a wire wasn't hooked up in the C101. Rechecked wiring, found problem, fixed it.

I would be the first person to buy an adapter so that the MPG gauge and OBC (mpg, miles to empty, etc.) would be accurate again if one became available.

I'm getting much better fuel economy with my s50 compared to the m20 but not 40MPG as indicated! I wish!

ABS light was on because it's not working. You have to send 12 volts to the correct wire on the ABS relay...just search it.
