I do not recommend these GREEN mounts. Broke 3 left side ones over 4 years and just noticed that my right side one is broken as well. Switching to the black hockey puck style from a e34. See my post below for a picture of the GREEN mounts.

I know i wish i had my cam it got take by 14 yr old sister and i had to go looking for it and it doesnt work any more. Sorry about the pic.
I would normally not care but netrual is like clear up where fifth would normaly be engaged. To get it in 5th i have to crank it up into the trim in the upper right hand corner.
And another thing i am haveing trouble with the long rod that the ball pivots in when i took the old motor out i forgot (DUMB ASS) to take all the shift linkage apart and ya. So it ripped that long piece out and now im not really sure how it sits in there i think i got it but not 100% the little rubber mount it sits in to keep it still came out and i just didnt see it come apart.
So as for getting this bent properly what is the best method and where should i bend it.

Even if it's the E36 trans, it will still be to the right. No one seems to ever explicitely say this. I did once in a shifter carrier discussion (just the geometry makes it so) and of course everyone has the same thing. As long as all gears engage with no issues, who gives a shit?

Ok i got it in there i had to leave the pass. side bolted on the car and the drivers side lose in there and take the trany bracke and thanks for the rolling jack i shoulda thought about that one but its in there now and im getting every thing hooked up so far.
Yet i have a question i know wrong thread and its probly in here some where if somebody knows where it is and can paste it for me other wise i was just going to ask real quick. My shifter seems to not be inthere right and im kinda woried. it just feels like its tilted side ways and isnt lined up right.

Don't tighten the mounts completely when you are trying to install the engine. You need a little play until everything gets lined up properly.

I like to lower the front of the car a bit compared to the rear height, it makes clearing the front support a bit easier and the angle of the engine doesn't have to be as severe.

Once you get the trans over the front sub-frame, use a jack to support it. Being able to adjust the height will help with leveling and being able to roll it around will help with positioning.

I've installed 3 engines by myself using that techinque. Just don't force anything.

One of these days, I'm going to install an engine from the bottom. Seems a whole lot easier.

    Sorry to re-awaken this thread

I tried putting the motor in yesterday and, failed badly. The Electrical rail that goes to the injectors was hitting the fire wall so i took off the blower motor cover gave me a little more clearance, and the oil pan was hitting the front of the car. The trany brace was almost tuching the ground if it wasnt sitting on the sway bar and I have a feeling i wasnt suposed to have the engine mounts on the engine when you guys droped your motor but even still it looked as tho it might not clear but i am attemping a fresh try today with added inlightenment from yesterday :D
