dont feel too bad. i bought my s50 offa CHP officer, who drove the motor up to me. a month later i opened the motor up to replace gaskets and whatnot, to discover a blown headgasket, and a need for full valve job. seller said the motor was 80K off a running auto that was rear ended. yeah. he never responded to one email or phone call. -
read the post. The engine was out of a rollover car. And if it was moneyshifted, the head wouldn't be good.Leave a comment:

s52 motor + bent crank = super money shifted m3??? Thats the only way I can think of how the crank can become bent like that. Sucks man. Is the head still good? You can keep it or sell to recover some $$. I would honestly cry if that happened to me. Stay tuff dude.Leave a comment:

you should have uncle bluntie hook you up wif the Blunt Tech discount on your next one.Leave a comment:

If the crank is bent, you can probably bet the whole/most of the bottom end is bad, too. The impact could have affected everything connected to the crank...ie, a lot of stuff.
I haven't heard of too many bad stories about bad engines with swaps.
Moral of the story - turn the engine by hand before money exchanges handsLeave a comment:

What a bummer!!! I am local, let me know if you decide to go with another motor down the line and want to sell your current bad motor cheap..that way i'll have two motors for my e30 swap lolLeave a comment:

Maybe this is why the dismantler is out of business now? Selling shotty parts ! Man that sucks BAADDDDDDD !!!Leave a comment:

I would go back to the dismantler but they went out of business, so I'm basically stuck. I know the guy who used to manage it, but about all I can do is give him a hard time about it.
There doesn't seem to be any shortage of motors on ebay and bimmerforums, so I think it will work out in the end, but I'll still probably be out a grand when it's all said and done.Leave a comment:

Maybe use a BFH.. No, on second thought, claim warranty from the wrecker you got it from ( if you can, some only do 90 day warranty for used engines i buy at the shop.)Leave a comment:

Whole new motor.
If you bought it from a wrecker, it should have a warranty.Leave a comment:
