    e30 m50 speed signal hook up

    what wires on the e36 and e30 harnesses i have to connect???Or pins ???

    search... there is a lot of information on this subject. it depends on what year e30 and e36 harness you use cause not all pins and colors are the same. we have collaborated a small list with several different years in a thread in this sub-forum.

    if you are wanting to hook up a speed wire, i ran a wire from my cruise control off the cluster over to the ecu.

      i could not find the wiring for it . the only info i found on the subject is that it needs to be hooked up... .i have a 1991 325i wit a 1993 e36 m50 I am more interested where in the e36 computer Pin # the speed signal needs to go....thanks and i know how to search that is how i completed my swap in first place.

        If its a 91, then it should have the road speed signal in the c101. Its pin 14 on the e30 side. It should be Black with a white stripe, not to be confused with the white/black wire for tach.

        It needs to be connected to pin 14 of the x20 on the m50 side. If Its a 93 harness it too should be black and white. The reason I wired mine directly is because the eta didnt use a speed signal, but the cruise control output worked perfectly. I found all this info in this thread.
