    Hell yeah!

I know this doesn't impress most guys on here since you've all done it, several in some cases but this moment has been a LONG time coming (I put this in motion 2 years ago, searching for the right car and engine). So many problems overcome: started in Vancouver, with the engine/transmission in my livingroom, doing the prep work for the E30 chassis, doing the suspension work in a borrowed garage barely big enough for the car, then dragging it all across the country to Toronto, doing more work out in the parking lot - and finally... here it is (the trans install was last week but including the pics for completeness)

Nice! Can't beat that feeling that your getting project done! DO WORK!

On a side note is that how most of you guys drop the motor in, without the intake on? I had the intake manifold on when i dropped mine in.

            See picture below:

Thanks a lot for all the positive comments guys, I know it's vain but it does mean a lot. I have to say I really had my doubts when I set out to do this all on my own - I didn't really think I'd get this far, just "ah why not, I'll try, it'll be fun".

LOL as for the dirt, there are a precious few things in the world I could care less about (although I'll clean up the outside once it's all finished). If you need sane reasons - it's a lot easier to spot leaks on matte gray than on shiny red, and if you have a leak, it's a lot easier to scoop up goop than it is to mop up liquid (like the other day I forgot that my clutch slave line isn't plugged and a bunch of brake fluid leaked out - instead of having to chase a bunch of fluid around, I just scooped up a bunch of goopy mud!!).

This one will stay on the track. I'll have to plate it for a little while because the clutch needs 1k to be broken in but after that it stays on the trailer.

One day, so will mine. Until then, it's going to be breathing the dope and scaring small children.

The flywheel was 549 USD from UUC (this is one of those things you don't cheap out on but bite the bullet and just buy new). The clutch was made by a local racing shop from a used M5 core, with stronger springs and kevlar facings for 450 Canadian.
