    s50 and s52 clutch differences?

I need to buy a 95 m3 clutch for my swap, but the clutch for the 95s seem to be about $100 more than the 96+ kits, whats the difference in the 2? are they compatible?

the part #s for the disc and TO bearing are the same, but the pressure plate # is different. Whats different about the pressure plate?

Also, will the shift carrier from my 90 325i physically work with the m3 zf trans?

    Thanks
    Dan

I cant really give you any more info than what you have, but i went through that too. I just sucked it up and bought a new one.The best price i found was at bma. I think it was a bit under 300 for the uprated sachs clutch kit.

Thanks for the reply, someone must have tried to bolt up a 96+ pressure plate on a 95 dmf flywheel.
I can't see why they would change it.

The alignment dowels do not line up. I tried to mate a S50 pressure plate to a 96+ M3 lightweight flywheel. This did not work. It makes common sense that the opposite (96+ PP, 95 fly) will also not work.

The words "dual" and "mass" come to mind, and as that applies to the clutch disc.. one is sprung, the other not.

I was under the impression that both the s50 and s52 use a dual mass flywheel, the part numbers for clutch discs are the same, so they are both without springs no?
You're saying one is not sprung? which one?
The part description on realoem shows both discs with springs.

            Whats the deal Jordan?

I have a '96+' oem clutch in one of my 95 M3s. No issues.

s50 flywheel, twin mass, s52 flywheel, single (i have 1 of each). Order from fap99.com they have the best price. They state the s50 kit is for s50 cars only, same goes for s52 kit.

Ok, I should have bought an s52 flywheel then, O well, I'll be running an s50 DMF and the UUC performance organic clutch.

Anyone have info on using the e30 shift carrier on the zf trans, is it not compatible?
                  Thanks

I've got an s52 flywheel if you want it. Would need a resurface, but say 50 shipped and its yours.
