    M52 Swap!!!

    anyone have any details about doing an M52 swap out of an 1999 323I e46, into an E30 also any transmission help. i need everything and anything!

    Pain in the ass, unless you want all the OBD-II stuff, poor performance, etc etc.
    It would be better to find a 328is E36 and use that motor.

      M52TU in the e46, BTW. Whole different motor from the M52.

        so the m52tu is a no go!.... lol back to the original plan m50.

        if anyone else has more information to help me with my choice. im not really going for power. i live in VA our Speed laws are fucking R3v'd.

          in 1999 the 3series was a e36... the e46 started in 2000. Also there was never an m52 in any e46. You sure you know what motor you are looking at?

            The e46 started production in 9/97 as a '99 model. These e46s were equipped with an M52TU motor.

            I'm not sure you know what you're looking at...

              No, the four door E46s came out in 1999.

              The two door 323is and 328is were still E36s, as well as the M3.

                dude ..look at my sig. the car with the motor is right there... i drive it everyday.

                haha i guess i should explain why i asked this question. the blue car in my sig the 4door e46 sedan is 323i m52tu engine. i dont have the luck of the irish so i picked up one of the early e46's with with a crapped out rear subframe. so if all does not go well. i will just do a swap-a-roo ..if not ill just trade in and get an x5
