I need new rods and pistons and I have a set of m3 rods and pistons In my storage shed I think....can I use them in the 2.8 block. I think I'd have to bore the block 2mm but will the pistons and rods work on the 2.8 crank?

Yes, you can. Rods are the same length, but pistons are, like you said, larger and will need a bore.My 2.9L Build!

I don't know.
To calc the size of one cylinder = Bore^2 x Pi x Stroke (everything in cm and not mm)
The to get the size of the whole engine multiply one cylinder times six and you will get how big it is in CC's. (1000 cc's = 1 liter)
edit: This would be a great way to get a low compression motor for a turbo setup. My 2.9L Build!
