    Suspension options with the swap.

Alright, can we get everyone to list what they used for suspension, a rough price figure, and your overall satisfaction with it.

im looking for a good streetable inexpensive, but worthy, set-up (particularly springs?) for a 325es getting an s50 in the very near future.

i wanted coilovers, but after a robbery, the budget is once again a real Budget.

So what's your Budget? Then maybe we can help you out.

if i could get a decent set of springs and shocks, maybe some sways, and hopefully keep it under 1200 to include all hardware, and oem replacement things. because those are what add up so quickly.

are the treehouse arm mounts absolutely needed? or can you squeeze a 2.5 inch single exhaust through that area with an s50 and s52 headers using stock mounts...?

you can always get an exhaust shop to fabricate the downpipes around all the obstacles. I run stock obd1 manifolds, m3 solid rubber CAB's and my exhaust guy had no problem routing the downpipes

The S50 doesn't change the suspension requirements of the car. Its not much heavier than stock.

after having an m20b27 and going us S50b30 doubling your power on 20+ year old bits, suspention is a wise move, but brakes should be #1. Just get them sorted, then just go with either H&R sport/race and Bilst sport shocks.

If you get the ebay headers, you dont need the treehouse cabs, you can run stock style.

^^ can you specify which ebay headers. i looked at the "exhaust options thread" and it had links to a lot of places. i'd appreciate it. ty.

suspension wise, you're adding roughly 80-100lbs to the nose of the car so plan accordingly
              No more e30s for me.

Thanks , thats what i was looking for.

I knew it wasnt much different, but it was definately a little heavier up front.

we should even out for the most part though, after removing the A/c stuff..

the plan was just some decent springs and bil sports most likely.
plus of course the full replacement of stock rubber bits and pieces.

Now, what is everyone else running for suspension?

As matt stated above, having the motor swap doesn't really change the suspension, so just search around. People are running all sorts of suspension setups.
The best thing would be to get coilovers so you can pick out your spring rates.

I am planing to put Koni shocks with sport H&R springs for my S50 swap. Still not sure on which sway bars to use.

Treehouse arm end are NOT absolutely needed. I had exhaust shop do a very slight mod to s50 down pipes and it all fits nicely! $350 or so that treehouse charge for those ends could get you front Koni shocks and you still have some money left.

                          You mean $180?

                          Treehouse makes a nice product.

I guess I was looking on e46 prices or something... so let me rephrase it: "$180 or so that treehouse charge for those ends could get you front Koni shock and you still have some money left." :)

Also, I don't doubt their quality. Judging by the image of the part, it looks very good.

cutting corners is just going to make the car less than its potential...
