Yeah, 1-2K would barely pay the machine shop bill for a half decent rebuild.

+1 on the not even coming close to 1-2k. I probably out paid that on just gaskets. I probably have about 1500 in machine work alone. That and I get all of my parts at cost since I work at a shop that deals with WorldPac.My 2.9L Build!

x2 on the pricing, maybe you should go get a civic with that type of budget intent. 1-2k, I've spent more on shop supplies and paint for my project. I haven't started buying many parts yet.Comment

Again, Ill figure it out when I get there. I was figuring 1500 for basic engine machining. My bro knows a place where you can get a head completely done, decked, etc, for $400. I dont really know how much block work will cost me. I might just do an S50 crank and deal with 2.9 liters instead of 3. I dont know the CR difference tho.
I have no idea what the other stuff will cost me. $2000 more in turbo parts I suppose (manifold/turbo mainly). The rest is just refresh parts but I have no clue what thatll cost either. Thank god for my hookups at the dealer.
Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!Comment

The engine build and machine shop cost me $2k in labor/rebuild materials, $1k for pistons, and $1k for cams. When you start adding new clutch, radiator, alternator, etc., it adds up fast...especially when none of it's OEM. :p The real kicker is all of the stupid little nuts, bolts, and brackets. My spreadsheet tells me I have almost $1k in that stuff. :(Again, Ill figure it out when I get there. I was figuring 1500 for basic engine machining. It would be cheaper to get a M52 and rebuild that. You can still boost the piss out of that motor. Even though the stock HP between a M50 and a M52 is next to nothing, after a turbo the M52 will produce more power.Originally posted by KingBScratch my back and I buy a prostitute for you, to rub your balls.
