    E28 Motor mount question

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...60&hg=11&fg=10

    Re: Item 12

The threaded stud (the bottom one) that attaches the mount to the cross-member is about 1/2" shorter on one of my mounts. Did I get a dud from the factory? The ETK doesn't say anything about a left and right, so I'm guessing this one is screwed. Shouldn't both be the same length?

    Thanks,

The lower one on both mine are shorter than the tops. (green mounts, both drivers side)

The bolt with the small shoulder (longer) goes on the top side, and the fully threaded one (shorter) goes on the bottom.

I know that. Are the bottom studs supposed to be the same length as each other? I know the bottom studs and top studs aren't the same length.

E30 Groupie, how do you differentiate between driver's side and pass side mounts?

        I think I've got a flawed mount.

You use two drivers side mounts, which are green (drivers is black), and yes they should be identical.

The passenger side one from the same car is a solid cylindrical bushing. You should have two identicle ones.
