i pulled all the auto-tranny wiring out of the harness. along with the + cable for the starter. what was left was about half of what was origionally there. -
what you guys do with this extra plug, i tucked it in the glove box, i refuse to remove it from the rest of the harness
which one do i plug into the akg harness? lol im assuming the other one is part of the auto harness
DME installed..
what the fuck is the white end plug, and what plug was someone nice enough to cut? o2 sensor is all i can think of that im missing.
That extra connector piece in the first pic is the plug for the trans computer, and can be cut out safely. Some of the wires from there go to the white end plug (that plug used to go down to the trans itself), some of them go to that other black plug that looks like the x20, and the rest of them just splice into other groups of wires crimped together in the large mass of wires in the middle. And yes, I think that cut off part is for the O2 sensor, I don't remember what the color of the wires were, but it does have four wires going to it.
I cut out all of those extra connectors, the trans cpu plug, the white-end plug, and the black plug, pulled out all of wiring from them, and cut them out of the crimped points in the middle. Good news is everything still works.
I hope you have a e36 bentley available, it never hurts to double check the wiring diagrams!

If you have the E36 M3 tranny than just get yourself an E30 M3 driveshaft.

i made my buddys for his chevy 350 4runner and he has gone wheeling about 5 times and nothing has happened to it. doesnt have any vibration to it. i made both the one to the rear and from the t case to the front diff. its really simple if you just take your time and do a good job welding it works great. my pay some one 800+ just to shorten a drive shaft when you can do it your self.Leave a comment:

^^ I was under the impression that shortening a drive shaft is best left to very specialized shops due to the equipment neccessary to make sure it doesn't vibrate to death.Leave a comment:

if your talking about your drive shaft you could shorten it. just make a mark on how much you want to take out. then carfully use a band saw to cut the first mark that isnt on the joint. second use a hack saw to cut the weld off the the joint. third use an arck welder to reattache the joint. after that you have a new shortten drive shaft.Leave a comment:

Only one of the harnesses actually fits the AKG adapter, the auto harness is oriented slightly differently. It's pretty easy once you stick them together.

Or just break out the Dremel. Its the wider intake runners that cause the problem.Leave a comment:

yes im using the modified one from zionsville, i havent had the intake on yet to see. i just noticed that my s52 fuel rail cover doesnt fit over the m50 manifold.....Leave a comment:

he he that tape is good for everything leo! ive been waiting for someone to comment on the chain fall ill get a pic tomorrow, i think its more manouverable then the cheery picker i see everyone using, and i didnt end up caving the ceiling in like my fiance assumed i would lol.
abe, the cd uses the metal pipe, remember the cd is actually intended for obd1 swap on an e36 car.
BTW the cd states that the coolant line the we are removing for the other sensor is for......"prevent icing of the air passage" im assuming its a winter thing??
pics for the day........
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.....im not putting it in yet, i wanna dyno the s52 the way it is for know.

I assume it also tells you to use an obd1 coolant hose as well?
