think about it this way: a 4.10 with a getrag is the same as having a 3.25 with the ZF
VERY short IMO. a 4.10 with a ZF makes first and second useles...i had that at the begining of my swap and i could take off third gear like it was a taller 1st gear.
btw got the chassis started on friday ;D...engine went in on wed!!! 2 days ftwLeave a comment:

No thanks, I do all of my driving in town, drives great...
And I'm hoping to do a lot of drag racing with it, so with that in mind, 4.10 is awesome.
Edit: by the way, all my friends will agree, I am nuts behind the wheel of the e30. I don't think I could have more fun legally than I do. Its all personal style. You've tried it and know what you like, that's all that matters.Leave a comment:

lol! dude, after driving it down the street, definelty a waste of time, i can shift 2nd to 5th no problem, its waaaay to short, it does 90km at 3000rpm!! it actually slowed the car down huge, with all the shifts i need. what you running bigD? 3.73? i think im going to take the 2.93 apart and see what the issue is, maybe i can save it, ill prolly get the same gearing if its fucked.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I agree. The 410 gears is fine, been daily driving mine that way for 5 months so far, shitty highway miles and low top speed but oh well its great in town.Leave a comment:

The 410 will be fine, just realize that it's made for the 1.8, so make sure your S52 doesn't put out any more torque than the 1.8 would have.Leave a comment:

it shoulb be fine. but your gears will be so short. 1st gear would probaly be till about 15mphLeave a comment:

i think i blew the diff, i forgot to check the fluid level and now that it was making some serious noises, i thought id check and i was able to add about a liter and a half, i drove it around again and it is quiter but it feels like something is loose in there. so is it a bad idea to through the 4.10 in there just so i can drive it to get my stickers and emissions test?Leave a comment:

i think we need some videos. were you happy with your parts from Zionsville?Leave a comment:

as i said theres the hours and money spent, so guys no roughly what it will cost for the swap, or how you could have on hte swap. i htink i no what the z3 rear diff covers are for now, i think i blew the diff already started rattling after i ran it on the highway. and its really hot and stinky, i never did check the oil level.
