the seller said in a message that he is certain it will fit an e34 , by the pics on ebay is this true and is 305 a deal on this motor

Its a Non-Vanos M50, with the e36 oil pan. 2.5 liters.

I hope your kidding, its the same motor. Its hard to see but it looks like a NV.

Definitely a non vanos M50. $300 is about as high as I would bid on that...

So it will not fit in an E34 (or an E30) unless you get an E34 oil pan for it.

I'd be a bit concerned about contamination -- not only is that the wrong oil cap, but it looks like it's a bit too small for the hole.
