    Trans fluid

I'm trying to figure out what kind of fluid to use in my transmission. Engine is a '97 S52 with a ZF 5 speed. I found one site that said some use ATF (???). I tried searching. I got 9 pages of hits for transmission and fluid. Those two words get used a lot.

Even just the SAE spec would be a big help...or a link somewhere pertinent.

    TIA,

ATF for the ZF. There is a sticker on the side of the transmission that indicates the fluid that is required.

Where do you guys come up with these recipes...I'm impressed!

This car is kicking my ass badly, so every little bit helps.

            Thanks again,
