    S54 intake plenum onto S50??

Question for the gurus: has anyone any experience of fitting the intake plenum from the e46 m3's S54 engine to an S50B30 or B32 [euro motor]?

I ask because there seems to be a better shape for giving clearance to the other components in the cold side of the engine bay.

Hmmmm, I was also wondering this the other day.

BTW, your car sounds pretty damn sweet.

I would think, and this is just based on assumption, that the S54 intake would bolt up easier to a S50Euro than a S50US. Hell, it may even have the same bolt holes. If you could at least look at a picture of the side of an S54 then you would be able to tell.

You are right that it would bolt up to a Euro motor easier than a US motor...but I believe the S54 plenum is larger than the S50 B3x plenums.

The exhaust header for an S54 won't bolt up to either of them as the S54 went to 3 bolts/ cylinder rather than the 4 on the S50s.

Thanks, gobuffs ... I couls see an advantage of running the S54 intake Plenum... but I have no idea how with a bigger plenum you would get the S50 into the car then... or maybe I'm just being stupid, cause the S54 fits inside an e30 fine.

s54 or s50b30/b32 intake plenums will not work with s50 with out a lot of custom fabrication. Just don't even think about it.

The hydraulic reservoir is also housed within the S54 plenum - good clearance issue to consider.

Hmmm, I'll have to try and get a set of S54 ITB's and tinker with them :)

Lol, the brake booster is in the same spot as the LHD drive cars... we have a rod that runs across from the brake pedal to the booster and master cyl.
