I think this thread illustrates why
1) comparing different cars from different dynos/operators on different days is pointless
2) using a dyno just to get a peak HP and TQ # to brag about is pointless
3) getting a baseline for your car from the same dyno/operator with similar conditions is important
nice curves, flat torque.. but it really doesn't tell us a whole lot without a baseline of your motor when it was stock.

Mazur,
Good looking numbers for a 3L. Are their any DynoJet facilities near you? I would like to see a DynoJet SAE print of your motor.
I dynoed 226 on a DynoDynamics, then took it to a friends Dynojet hoping that it would make 235+ (because we have all heard that DynoDynamics read Low) and it only did 218 SAE. I had it done again at the DynoJet and it read about the same as the first time.
I have a feeling that the DynoDynamics operators in this country are monkeying around with the calibrations, because they own the heart breaker dyno, and nodody wants to spend money on a dyno that reads low.
If you are reading 240+ SAE on a dynojet with a non-cammed 3L, I will be stunned.
Don't take this post the wrong way, I'm just curious about DynoDynamics and how they compare. I have seen that they read 10-15% lower than a Dynojet, but in my case (and I suspect yours) that the theory may not hold water.

Cammed motor only went up to 6800rpm, Mazur took his up to 7250rpm. And yes a cammed motor will keep making power up to 7200.Leave a comment:

That's almost identical to my setup list. I'm using OBDII header with an AA track pipe though, and conforti chip...very cool dyno results. I was always figuring my car for about 220-230rwhp, your numbers are very good especially on a typically low reading dynojet.Leave a comment:

About the gearing? I must have missed it.^^ you know, i asked you that in one of your threads hoping you or someone would have a nice answer to that. i wouln't care as much for mileage as i would for my engine though. i think your car is badass, i actually hope my setup is somewhat similar!
do we get another youtube showdown?!
What youtube showdown? I don't have any vids. I guess I should make a vid though. Just have to find a friend who is willing to video tape while I'm carving it up on the canyons.:DLeave a comment:

I switched to a 2.93LSD Saturday night because I was going on a drive with the AZBMW crew and wanted better gas milage and less noise.
Well now I'm thinking I'm never going back. I think I'm actually quicker now because I don't have to shift so much. Raced my friends E36 M3 and I start pulling and he's shifting way before me....I love it! And 100mph in 3rd is so sexy.
And even with the hard driving we did through the canyon runs I still ended up getting better gas milage than with the 3.73 when I'm taking it easy.:)Leave a comment:

This is probably a better comparison. This one was made on different day when it was 97*F outside, if that makes a diff.

Yea, the DynoDynamic that is here in town reads about 15% lower than a number of Mustang dyno's here.Leave a comment:

Just bought a 90* silicone hose that goes from 3.5'' to 3'' and fitted the ICV and crankcase vent tubes to it.
Only these...

I don't know. This is the only example I have seen of a stockish M3 on this Dyno Dynamics. Owner claims that you have to add 25% to the readings for a standard tranny to get HP. Sounds a little too optimistic, but I believe it does read a tad lower than a Mustang dyno in my experience with dynoing with both with same car.Leave a comment:
