CEL Light wire on 413 red label ecu

Can anyone tell me what wire needs to be hooked up to get the CEL light on the cluster to work? Looks like the PO didn't do this.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

Hey, where in VA are you? I'm back and forth between Harrisonburg and Lynchburg working on an m52 swap.

Virginia Beach. I talked to you about a year ago. I used to have the turbo black e30.

Pin 8 at the ECU. Small gray wire IIRC. It is the small gray wire in the X20 connector also, but I dont remember what pin.

I hooked everything up, light comes on when the key is in accessory and goes out when the car is started. I can't get the stomp test to work and the light never comes on while driving.... that was the only gray wire I saw in the harness.

maybe the throttle switch isn't working, but I guess that should set a code which would force the light on... or, maybe it's just the full-open switch contact

The light goes on now when I give it full throttle and then turns off again when I release the pedal. I still can't get it to work with the stomp test so maybe there is something screwy with the throttle.

You may need to find someone with a code reader.

My first guess based on the fact that it comes and goes like that is knock sensors.

CEL Light at WOT solved. Apparently the guy that built this swap didnt replace the TB cable with the right one and used a stock m20 cable. He had a bunch of crush washers on the back so it would open the throttle up all the way but he put too many on and the throttle would got past WOT by about 15 degrees.

I took 2 out for the time being and now the CEL light doesn't light up at WOT. This will work until I buy an e34 m50 cable.
