Hard to say. Active and Turner (and us) mark their chips with their logo and a serial number. I've also pulled out Autothority chips and they don't look like that, either.
When I opened up the dme it looked like the guy scratched up the edge of the circuit board a little when trying to get it open. It doesn't look very bad, but I hope that didn't hurt it. How can I go about testing to see if the computer itself works? I know there is at least some functionality because the car wont turn over unless the computer is hooked up.
I would post a pic up but its so small and the quality isn't good enough to see it.
To test the DME you can always swap it into a M3 or 325 with the 413 , but you'd have to try both red and silver label ....not to mention youd have to swap in the 325i's chip for it to run as intended .
