Does anyone know what the CANCA acronym stands for?
My donor M52 came from an auto, which means I get a retarded map as default from the DME, unless the DME gets a "kickdown" signal from the sludgebox (which obviously doesn't exist anymore).
I found the two comm lines between the auto computer and DME (pins 85, black and 86 yellow) on the DME connector. They are both bi-directional (ie, IN/OUT).
The only info I could find on them is;
Pin 85 - CANCA-LOW
Pin 86 - CANCA-HIGH
These lines also go to the Diagnostics connector (pins 2/3 on M3) if I am not mistaken.
Reason for the whole thing is if I knew what the kickdown signal was, it might be possible to feed this signal to the DME.
I know its a long-winded way to go about it but chipping is still weeks away (only just heard of a German company that does this, got no more info yet), and this may get me a little more in the meantime.
Anyone got any ideas?
BMW dealers have been useless so far.
