    Starter motor help!

I have starter motor fitment issues.
    M52 with M20 flywheel.
M52 starter motor gear has different teeth to M20 flywheel. M20 starter motor is too bloody fat to fit into starter space under M52 manifold (it hits on the metal bracket that holds up the manifold).

I hadn't read about the M20 starter not fitting before. Maybe I have a weird oversize stater? Has anyone had this problem?
Can you fit the M20 "freewheel pinion" onto the M52 starter motor? Has anyone ever done this?

    Cheers.

You can grind down the metal 'bracket' thing, or just get the smaller late model m20 starter. i've fit both on my car. I have heard of people trying to dismantle the starters but i dont know if they were successful.
