Hey-is there another factory hoist eyelet on the rear of the engine? I can't see the rear of my engine yet-it's still in the donor!

I dont know that raising the back of the car so high was really necessary. I did it as a precaution, so I would have to stop midway through the installation process and lift the back end. Whatever you do, dont set the ass end on jackstands and lift the front. That seemed like an invitation to drop the car.

Serg, yes its above the starter, by the head coolant port. It's pretty thick.

Heh-that is exactly the reason I still have the rear end of the donor on the car. I'm not a fan of working under a car up on 4 jack stands with no wheels on. I was just going to drop the engine onto a pallet (like yours), lift the front of the car up and slide the engine/tranny combo out. I do have the whole front end removed, so no radiator or front crossbrace to worry about.

i noticed you smoothed out the rubberized mess around the shock towers before painting, did you bondo them as well?

Been debating using this process on next project with the Eta. But will use a lift.

I did a little smoothing and cleaning but not to the extent that you could say I smoothed the engine bay. I just tidied the place up a bit. I scrapped the heaviest factory seams and re-applied some 3M seam sealer with a little less enthusiasm than they did originally. No bondo.
