Engine mount help! Dont know what I have...

I got engine and tranny sitting in, I'm using E28 535i mounts and they dont fit!
I was under the impression these would be OK.
The mounting face between the top of the rubber and the bottom of the engine arm are out of plane. Also, the stud on top of the mount goes through the arm at an angle. Sorry for dodgy pic, but you get the idea...

Although the holes line up, nothing can be bolted up. Could I have the wrong arms? Or wrong mounts?
These are the mounts I have, they are symmetrical, and look different to some of the ones I have seen posted.

I went to buy another set, but they were the same. Maybe different in AUS???

Can someone identify these (correct?) rubbers? I dont know where they came from.

OR, Can someone post some pics of the correct mounts? Part numbers of mounts/arms would be fantastic.
Some help would be great, I have researched this, but somethings wrong here. I dont have the right info. THanks!

I used motor mounts from the E28 535i.

Your mount arms look correct to me.

Those look like the 535 mounts to me in the picture. I ordered the e28 535 motor mounts and got the ones as pictured in that lower picture. My only guess is try and keep the mount loose on both sides and it should go in. It binded on me when I tried tightening the mount onto the frame as well as when I tightened it onto the arm. Just to be sure, you have the e36 arm right?

The ones installed are hte ones I DONT have, I have the round ones pictured by themselves. The round looking ones are what we get here as E28 mounts. And like in my picture, there's no way I can get them to mount, the base is about 10deg out at least.

The arms, well I dont know. I was told they are E36 mounts but Im not so sure anymore.

So the Q is, are, what are the block-looking ones (installed in the last picture)???

I am a bit lost on this, because the current setup is just wrong. And AFAIK I have all the bits that should work (ie, if I ask for new ones, I still get the same).

Thanks for the comments and P/N's tho... I'll check those when I get time off work (ever?)

          E28 535i Mounts: Part number 11 81 1 132 793

Should be green or black and shaped like the blocky ones above.

Here's the Pelican parts listing for those motor mounts, 11 81 1 132 793. They look like pic below:

Looks like you got the wrong motor mounts.

Those mount arms appear to be correct.

Are you using the outer holes on the subframe?

You can elongate the holes a bit to get the mounts to sit flush.

Hey thats great, thanks for the response guys.
Ye, definately have the wrong mounts, I dont know why, but I got offered the round ones and told they're E28 mounts! Glad to hear the arms look OK, that was my suspicion (hope)! Also good to know about lengthening the holes in the subframe, but aside from the problem with the angle, the holes lined up perfect (yes, I'm using the outers). Hopefully it stays that way with the new mounts when I get hold of them.
Anyway, That definately clears things up, cheers!

When you install the new mounts, make sure that the longer bolt (with the shoulder) is up towards the engine.

also, wnen installing engine, leave the mounts loose. you will need to rock them (back and foreth) to get the studs to line up with the holes. and as mike said, you might have to enlongate the outer holes, farther to the outside by 2mm. ive had a few cars that i needed to do that to.

                      cheers, jason
