no i dont, but its the light on the roof, I just want to know what sets it off so i can go and make sure it works, if no one else knows of this than i will probably just take it out.
The reason im asking is that when the swap was done is this just another thing that happens besides the MPG gauge, that the low leval light turn on?
To have the check panel work properly, you need the E34 oil level sender that mounts in the oil pan. 3 wires to hook up after the sensor is in place (static/dynamic/ground). The diagram is floating around this forum someplace in an x20/c101 thread.

the mpg gauge should work (if wired correctly) but will be off. mpg gauge is dependant on injector pulse. change to a different injector flow rate (as m20e to m50) and it will be inaccurate.
for what ever reason, most people do not wire up the check panel oil level light. dont ask me why. however, its really really easy. get a 3 wire plug that plugs into the oil level sensor, then grab a wiring diagram and match up the e34 to e30 wires. you have to match dynamic, static and ground wires.
do a search. im sure ive posted the pin locations / functions / directions before.
