Oil levels

Okay, another question:


I put 6 quarts of oil in the motor (completely empty after rebuild). Ran the car for a couple minutes. Checked the oil.

it was still below the high and low marks on the dipstick. and i checked to make sure its all the way down.

how much oil does everyone put in when they start from an empty motor?

I'll just maintain it around the top line. It's gonna be 6+ quarts, but not quite 7.
