    A/C help in S50, 91 318is

Someone please spoon feed me and send me on my way. My S50 swap into my 91 318is is basically done. The motor I put in was from my dead race car, so the A/C and brackets were already gone. After searching, I am pretty confused. What compressor E30 or E36? Lines? Converting freon? I haven't found a single thread that tells me exactly what I need. I have an E30 compressor. Help.

E36 bracket and compressor . Have an A/C shop convert your e30 hoses to fit the e36 compressor . This cost me 80.00 for lines .

I'm also interested. Whats with all the AC crap that goes with the later model cars (96 for my motor)? They have about 6-or-so (?) wires to the DME, BCM, some also run on CAN, Do I even want to go there?
Rigging up the compressor/hoses is OK. Can you then simply wire it up to either have it on/off, Like I understand it was in my old '89 318i? I dont want climate control, just happy to get something colder than outside...
And why does it seem to be so hard to do, that most people just give up?

Yes, I have NO idea about this topic.
