Estimated cost to build OBDI S52 E30

As title, I'm looking to see what y'all have spent on your fine autoturds. I have been looking through a few E30 forums and looking into this, but I want to know what YOU KNOW you have spent.

    Thanks

Also, try not to include modifications to brakes, suspension, or interior. I'm looking strictly at relatively stock swaps starting with the powerplant.

Think: You just bought an E30 and all you want is an OBDI S52 in it asap. Then you do the swap and didnt modify anything else yet, what is your total?

        cost me more than 12.5k

HOWEVER... when i got the s52 they were still at current s54 prices, I used a 6speed, I bought all parts other than engine and transmission new, I bought every bolt on i could find, and i gave the engine a overhaul while it was on a stand.

For a good relyable stock swap though I would expect to pay 7.5k to 10k range if you do all yoru own work and get a good deal on the engine

Most people spend around $6k. It can be done for less than $5k if you find a screaming deal on the engine and are willing to scrape around junkyards for parts. (Not including purchase price of the e30, naturally).

And of course, the sky is the limit for how much you could pay. If you're talking getting all your parts new from the dealer, or if you delve into engine modifications, then it can get very expensive very fast.
