In the same vein, what coding plug would I need to use if I were to use an e30 m3 cluster coupled to an s50? I am considering this cluster because it has a higher red line on the tacho. Thanks all.
Can I take it, then, that I could use, say, an e30 325i coding plug in the e30 m3 cluster and then rig a resistive divider to cause the needle to deflect a lesser amount and consequently indicate the correct RPM? I am working on the principle that the tacho is simply a volt meter - I read this in another post - perhaps on here.
Hey, I'm new here, sorry if this is uber-noob post, but anyone know if there is a way to get the mpg sender correct after a swap? Everyone wants to know what kind of mpg I'm getting with my m50, and with no mpg gauge or odo ( :-P ) I have no idea.

Personally I find that the mpg gauge is just a flickering annoyance. It says i'm getting 40 miles per gallon when on average i'm getting around 15. Your best bet would be to use the OBC function because it reads from the fuel pump (if i'm not mistaken).

You're mistaken. They both read from the same data.
The fuel pump has nothing to do with gas mileage...
