Not sure which chassis is stiffer between those two. I'm sure the E30 is heavier at least in my case since I have a full interior and a roll bar.

My guess would be the Z3 is stiffer although I've heard that the E30 was the last chassis designed on a drafting board before BMW moved to CAD which would mean that E30 was over-engineered.

Yes, for sure BMWCCA would not allow this car to participate in any of their HPDE events.

So, I haven't tracked this car but I believe other organizations like SpeedVentures or NASA would probably allow my car especially if I run it with the hardtop installed.

    Thanks

The roll bar was added for safety first vs. looks. At first I didn't care for the look but it grows on you or at least it grew on me.

The cross bar is removable if I need to put people in the back seat. In the beginning I would remove the bar between autocross events but for the last few years I just use the car as a 2 seater and leave the bar in.

    Thanks

I tried to make the car look old school euro and do performance mods to help out for autocrossing.

Those are the AKG E21 transmission mounts. The aluminum cups provide extra support.
