Not that I don't believe you, but on turners site under the description of the adaptor it specifically says "This is also needed if you are doing an E30 3.2 or 2.8 engine conversion using OBD-I electronics. We also suggest using TMS “3.2 in a 3.0” Coolant Hose Adapter P/N: TEN9931007 to make your life easier".

I don't understand why they would write that if it isn't true.

You need that adaptor if you are using the OBD-II temp sensor (which has two sensors in one - the dme sensor and the gauge sensor), so that it can split out the dme sensor and allow you to plug that into your OBD-I harness. The gauge sensor will not register properly on your gauge cluster.

The easier method is just using an OBD-I dme temp sensor instead of the OBD-II one.

However, you still need the separate E30 gauge temp sensor.

So what I'm thinking is TMS is advertising it for e36 obd2 to obd1 swaps, and not for us e30 guys :(.

I wish they would say so, same with the stupid obd1 coolant pipe, you don't need to use it, you can use the metal pipe coolant pipe, i don't get why ppl argue that u can't?
