    Questions on ECU's...

    Do the E36 different bodies (sedan, coupe, convertible) use the same basic ECU? What about the 525i? Real OEM shows a different number for each body style. Are they programmed differently to account for weight, etc, and if so when we replace the chip with a performance version, does the new chip carry all the necessary info on it, or is some info contained on the motherboard?

    This is a great list of part numbers of dme's. The chip contains all the info that the car needs. Just make sure who ever is making the chip know's what dme your going to be using.
