Back to work on the S52

i finally have enough money/time to start working on my swap again.

What do you do with the stock fuel pressure regulator? I have 24lb injectors and an adjustable regulator. Do I just cap off the vaccum line on the stock one and install the new one on the outlet line? Or do I remove the stock regulator completely?

I want to order a new performance chip soon due to what seems to be EWS: lack of spark and fuel pump not turning on (I can jump it however)
There is one more thing I want to try to do before I get it, which I was told to do is run 4 gauge wire all the way from the battery ground up to the motor, and then maybe add two grounds from the motor to the chassis. I heard of people doing this...(i would use a jumper cable to test it first, no sense it buying all that wire and not have it do anything)

My ECU is a red label 413, it was made in 95 and i am 99% positive it has EWS, I looked it up on pelican parts I believe. I am thinking the guy that put the chip in thought that since it was a red label 413 ECU, it would work fine with a chip without EWS-delete.

any other insight into my dilema? I am itching to get this thing going for the summer.

what was the donor car exactly? Red label 413 definitely doesn't have EWS, but I think if your harness is from an ews car you may have to cut the wire that some ews delete chips advertise needs to be cut, or something crazy. I had a hard time getting a 95 m3 motor running. The car had EWS originally, I swapped in a non EWS DME and got no fuel or spark. I had to disconnect the ews box and cut the little green wire going to the DME for it to run.

Look around on bimmerforums much more ews info there.

DME and harness were both from a 95 M3. I looked for that wire in diagrams andwhatnot, none of the wires matched what people have said to snip..i snipped which one I thought it was and that was still a no go.

There is a 413 red label with EWS though, heres the link, scroll down till you find it: http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...DME-Repair.htm S50B30 /w EWS-II, or am I missing something??
