So I started crackin on the s52 swap again today, mainly just checking the basics to make sure everything was in order.
First thing I checked was the fuel pressure, which I got a steady 43psi at idle, 50psi anywhere else (3 bar). I checked the specs on the s52 and it should be running at 73 psi (5 bar). I thought I finally figured out wtf was wrong with my car, so I called up TMS for a quick answer on what FPR I should be using (I really have no idea what the one I have is from, but I know I had issues getting one that would work).
Well, the guy I talked to seemed sort of like a dick. I told him that I was running 3 bar, and it should be 5 bar, and asked which FPR they use so I could verify part #'s. He pretty much brushed me off and just told me 3bar was fine, but really didn't give any explanation as to why. I dunno, aside from anything, originally it ran on 5 bar, now it has 3 bar, seems logical enough that it could cause a problem, its not like I am making up some outlandish claim about something.
Anyone have any thoughts on the fuel pressure? I kinda don't suspect it too much, because the car is running rich as it is. I tested the pump pressure and got over 120psi, so the pumps should be just fine.
Now, HFM HFM HFM... I don't remember what the fuck is going on with that. TMS said that it should be PnP with the m50 OBDI harness, but I know for a fact mine didn't plug in at all. I remember reading a thread a while back with a pinout of where the wires should go, and how people "modified" the plugs by busting the alignment tabs off so they can stick it on any way they want.
I pulled mine apart (it has the 3.5 adapter on it) and whoever I fucking brought this piece of shit from cut the maf apart.... Its like 3 inches wide... Also conveniently the last 4 digits of the P/N are scratched off, so I really have no idea what the fuck HFM this is.
Does anyone know the procedure for testing this? Alldata can suck my balls, it never has jackshit for my car.
And another, how do you test the coil packs? I found in the bentley how to do m42 packs, but not s52. Again, alldata can suck my balls.
Thanks
