Oil Level Sensor Wiring

I have the E34 pigtail and three wires sticking out of my adapter but I'm unsure which goes where and frankly I don't have the time to figure it out on my own these days. I searched here and I found a few people telling other people to search but no actual info, does anyone either know offhand what which wire goes to which wire or know of thread where this is discussed?

Well need to know what model and year the sender is from, and what model and year the engine harness is.

'90 325is harness, sender from an E34 of some sort... Pin colors on sender pigtail are 1: Blu/Ylw, 2:Brn/Orng, 3:Blu/Wht. Engine side colors are Blue, Grn/Ylw, Blk,Wht, I'm not sure what pins they go to at the present moment because the plug is covered but I could take a look at that later if need be.

My treehouse adapter had two wires running out of it for the sensor. I bought the female plug and wired it like they said but the overhead check panel has had oil level on it ever since.... I haven't pulled the sender out and checked it , but the light didn't go off wire the circuit closed either.

Am I just looking for continuity to make the light go off? That could be easy enough to figure out then.
