Need a quick exhaust system amswer

I've given up trying to find an exhaust shop, in my hick-ass town of 1.1
million, that owns a good tubing bender. I have a E30 M3 exhaust
system from VSR and I need it adapted to my header. I even bought the
stainless tubing for the shop to use. They all say A.) we cant bend
that, or B.) We can probably bend it but it will kink. They mean that
it will ripple on the inside of the bend radius.

Will deformation of the both pipes in a bend have a noticeable effect
on performance? Is this a big no-no?

I have tomorrow off and really want to get this taken care of. I'd
like to actually drive this car some day.

    Thanks in advance,

    kr

i know this isn't what you want to here, but it depends. kinking the pipe a tiny bit won't affect things much, but if you kink it a lot and reduce the area of the pipe, it will create a bottleneck.
there has to be a competent exhaust shop in san antonio. can you call a bmw shop and see who they use for custom exhaust?

They were the first shop I thought of. I emailed them. They send out all their exhaust work.

We have a good indie shop here but they said "No thanks."

small kinks aren't horible but ideally you would buy mandrel bent sections and cut and weld them together. Keep a constant radius with no kinks for maximum flow, tig welding will also offer less weld splatter into the inside of the exhaust pipe if done properly.

I was able to build an exhaust like this with a little bit of luck for about $500 in parts and labor.

How can there be no custom exhaust shop in your city? Seems odd...

what size tubing are they using?

            http://www.jegs.com/p/Flowmaster/810783/10002/-1/10263

I just picked up a grab bag of mandrel bends from Jegs and went to town. None of the local shops around here wanted to build a track pipe for some Bee-emm-dubberyou.

It might kinda suck, but you might want to have them do kink bends out of mild steel, then clamp it together until you can find a real exhaust shop who can use your materials.

Yeah, I know, pay twice, but WTF, man, watchoo gonna do otherwise?
